desertSMART COOLmob is excited to announce that we have just successfully secured project funding for 2013 through 5 new small grants, from the Northern Territory government’s newly renamed Department of Land Resource Management (formerly NRETAS).
These grants have been approved for the following projects:
- Evaluation of the 2005 Roadmap to a desertSMART Town – $10,000
- Development of a new Roadmap to a desertSMART Town (2013-18) – $10,000
- Community Sustainability Film Nights (with Live and Learn NT) – $15,000
- Alice Springs Local Food Mapping Project – $10,000
- Support to Food for Alice’s Local Food Box Project – $20,000
COOLmob has recently taken on two new part time desertSMART Project Officers to help take these projects forward in 2013 – it’s looking like it’ll be a busy year for COOLmob!
Check out our staff page to meet the new members of the team and keep an eye on the COOLmob website, facebook and twitter for more updates on these great new inititatives.

Congratulations to the coolMOB team and all the members involved with this project!
Great that coolMOB’s activities and contributions to Alice Springs are being recognised and supported.
How can local organisations participate and contribute to the RoadMap project?
Hi Serif9, right now we are focusing on the evaluation. If your organisation was involved in the original Roadmap or any of the subsequent 70 actions that camne out of it, we’d love to hear from you! Please email info@desertsmartcoolmob.org to get in touch. See this link for more info on the 70 actions.
Once we get into the new Roadmap next year, there will be opportunities for local orgs to get inovolved, and lots of advertising. But again, please email us now (see email above) if you’d like to be involved. All are welcome!
The COOLmob team.
